How to Zip a File

In order to use Top Echelon Recruiting Software’s bulk resume upload feature, you’ll need to compress your resume files into a single zipped folder. A zipped folder compresses the information in the resumes so that it’s easier to transport via the internet.

A few things to keep in mind before zipping the file:

  • Make sure all the resumes you want to import are located within one single folder
    • You may have sub-folders within that single folder
  • Remove any files that are not resumes (ex – cover letters, images, references, etc.)
  • Make sure the folder is saved to your hard drive

To zip a folder in Windows:

  • Locate the corresponding folder
  • Right-click on the folder and select the Send To option
  • Click on Compressed (zipped) folder

To zip a folder on a Mac:

  • Locate the corresponding folder
  • Right-click on the folder and select Compress “Folder”
