LinkedIn Job Posting Options
Third-party recruiters and direct employers who use TE Recruit have three options for posting Jobs to LinkedIn:
- LinkedIn Job Wrapping
- LinkedIn Basic Jobs (formerly Limited Listings)
- LinkedIn Post to Activity Feed
This article aims to help you understand which option(s) will work best, depending on whether you are a third-party recruiter or a direct employer.
Summary: Job Wrapping is the best option for any business that subscribes to LinkedIn Recruiter and Job Slots. This self-service option within your LinkedIn account allows you to connect your jobs in TE Recruit with LinkedIn Recruiter and your Job Slots. For more details based on your use case, please see the sections below for Third-Party Recruiters and Direct Employers.
LinkedIn determines which businesses are third-party recruiters vs direct employers according to their own policies and procedures. Top Echelon does not make any representations to LinkedIn about the nature of your business, and cannot influence LinkedIn's determinations on these matters.
Third-Party Recruiters
For LinkedIn's purposes, a third-party recruiter is any person or business who is recruiting on behalf of a direct employer, rather than recruiting their own employees. Following LinkedIn's job advertising policy change in August 2024, all third-party recruiting organizations must have an active subscription to LinkedIn Recruiter and Job Slots for their jobs to be visible on LinkedIn.
Recommended: Job Wrapping is the best option for most third-party recruiters to advertise their jobs on LinkedIn. Job Wrapping is a self-service option to connect your jobs in TE Recruit with your LinkedIn Recruiter account and Job Slots. Click to learn more about Job Wrapping.
Other Options: Basic Jobs (formerly Limited Listings) may still work for some third-party recruiters, but it requires the assistance of a LinkedIn representative to complete the setup, and TE Recruit's customers who are third-party recruiters have had very limited success leveraging this tool. Click to learn more about Basic Jobs.
Sharing a Job as a Post to your LinkedIn page's Posts tab/Activity Feed is also an option, but this will not add a Job to the Jobs tab of your LinkedIn account. A Post's visibility is also limited to the account's existing connections and followers. Click to learn more about LinkedIn Posts.
Direct Employers
For LinkedIn's purposes, a direct employer is any person or business who is recruiting candidates who will be employees of that organization. Direct employers may be entitled to free job visibility on their LinkedIn company page.
Recommended: Job Wrapping is the best option for direct employer organizations that subscribe to LinkedIn Recruiter and Job Slots. This self-service option connects your jobs in TE Recruit with your LinkedIn Recruiter account and Job Slots. Your LinkedIn representative may be able to assist you with free visibility for connected jobs that are not in your paid Slots. Click to learn more about Job Wrapping.
Other Options: If you do not subscribe to LinkedIn Recruiter and/or Job Slots, TE Recruit's Basic Jobs (formerly Limited Listings) integration is available to automatically connect your jobs in TE Recruit with your LinkedIn company page, where they may be eligible for free visibility (direct employers only). However, Basic Jobs requires manual setup and assistance from a LinkedIn representative, so if you subscribe to LinkedIn Recruiter and Job Slots, we recommend using Job Wrapping instead.
