Enrolling and Managing Records in Sequences
This feature is only available on the Professional Tier
After creating a Sequence, you can begin enrolling People or Company records to start the automated workflow. From there, you can track their progress and manage their enrollment at any time.
Replies Do Not Stop Future Steps
If a recipient replies to an email in the sequence, future steps will still send. To prevent this, you’ll need to manually stop the record in the sequence or remove it entirely.
Enrolling Records
Records can be enrolled from the Sequence itself or directly from a record’s Datasheet.
To enroll records from the Sequence:
- Expand the Sidebar in the upper-right corner of the software and click on the Settings icon
- Click to expand the Automation and Sequencing section, then select Sequencing
- Select the Sequence you want to enroll records into
- Click the Enroll Record button in the upper-right corner of the table
- Search for and select the record(s) you want to enroll
- Click the Enroll button when complete
To enroll records from a Datasheet
- Navigate to the Person or Company record you want to enroll
- From the Datasheet tab, locate the Sequences card
- Click the [+] icon in the upper-right corner of the card
- Select the Sequence you want to enroll the record into
- Note: Sequences are created with a type designation (Person or Company). Only Sequences that match the type of record you’re viewing will appear in the list.
- Click the Enroll button when complete
Tracking Record Status
You can view the status of enrolled records from the Sequence or from the Sequences card on a record’s Datasheet.
Each enrolled record will display one of the following statuses:
- In Progress – The record is actively moving through the steps in the Sequence
- Failed (Error) – An error occurred while executing a step. To view the details of the error, hover your cursor over the status
- Stopped – The record was manually stopped before completing all steps in the Sequence
- Completed – All configured steps in the Sequence were successfully completed
Managing Enrolled Records
Once a record is enrolled in a Sequence, you can manage its enrollment at any time. To do so, click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the record’s status badge, either from the Sequence itself or from the Sequences card on the record’s Datasheet.
The following actions are available:
- Stop – Prevents the record from continuing through the Sequence. No additional steps will run, but the Sequence will remain visible on the record’s Datasheet. Activities created by previous steps will remain related to the record.
- Remove – Stops the record from continuing through the Sequence and removes the Sequence from the record’s Datasheet. Activities created by previous steps will remain related to the record.
- Retry – Reattempts a step that failed due to an error. This option is only available when a specific step didn’t complete successfully.
