Automations: Send Text Message Action

This feature is only available on the Professional Tier

"Send Text Message" is an available Action when creating an Automation. Selecting this option will send a text message to the selected candidate(s) when a specified trigger is fired. Any recipients with a ' Do Not Text' designation will not be contacted.

In order to configure and use Send Text Message Automations, your agency must have at least one active, dedicated texting number.

Keep message volume in mind

Text messages sent via Automations will count toward your text message limit.  Sending a high number of text messages within a short period of time can also be flagged as suspicious by mobile carriers.

See our Best Practices guide for more information on text message deliverability.

Adding to a new Automation

  • Choose the Shared Text Template that you want to be sent when the trigger fires

The To field will be auto-populated based on the Trigger associated with this Action.
The From field determines which phone number the automated text will come from.
    • The default option is the User Performing the Trigger
    • You can also use the drop-down menu to configure this text message to always send from a specific number

  • Select when you would like this text message to be sent. The default setting is Immediately. However, you can elect to set a future date and time by clicking this drop-down menu and selecting Specify.
    • If the date in the future falls on a weekend, the text message will instead be sent at the specified time on the following Monday

Once the Automation is configured, it will be visible to and activated for all users in your agency. All users, regardless of permissions, will be able to send the associated text message when they perform the associated Trigger. Tip: You can learn more in the main Automations article.
You can view and edit your future scheduled text messages in the Automations Log.
